Well, there are rentals available on Outdoorsy where the owner will deliver their camper right to your campsite, set everything up for you, give you an orientation tour, and then pick it back up at the end of your stay. It just doesn’t get any more convenient than that.

Some RV owners will provide the delivery and set up for free but most charge a fee for this service. It’s usually in the $100 range.

Pro Tip: try to find an RV rental as close as possible to your campground to keep the fee as low as possible. Maybe you can even talk to the owner and get them to throw it in for free!

Yes and no… some RV owners offer pet friendly rentals and others don’t. I would say 70% of all rentals are pet friendly. You can even use “pet-friendly” as a filter when narrowing down your choices so you only consider them.

Things to Do In Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga might not be the first place that you think of to travel to when you rent your RV, but it should be high on your list. It has been named one of the top places to visit in the United States, and for good reason. There are plenty of things to do for people of all interests. You can enjoy the city, or you can enjoy the stunning nature and landscapes in the area. Here are some of the first things you should consider doing after you set up camp.

1. Ride the Tennessee River

If you are heading to Chattanooga, you need to get on the Tennessee River. It is one of the defining parts of the city and for good reason. It is a beautiful river that runs through the city. You can easily go out and charter a yacht or rent a party boat for you and your friends. While out on the river you can drink and have a great time while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

2. Take a City Tour

One of the best ways to get acquainted with any city is to take a city tour. The same is true for Chattanooga, and luckily there are several touring options available to you. You can join a group led by a tour guide, or you can hire guides to give you a private tour. There are also plenty of methods for getting around the city during your tour. You can walk or you can get around quickly on a Segway.

3. Go Whiskey Tasting

If you are going to visit this area, you need to go the to oldest registered distillery in the United States. You might think something so significant would have been founded in a larger city, but it is right here in Chattanooga. The name of the distillery is Jack Daniels, and they make their famous Tennessee whisky on site.

While you are there, there are plenty of tours for you to enjoy. They are all led by experts with plenty of stories to tell.

4. Go Hiking at Audubon Acres

If you want to get out of the city and see some of the more natural sites the area has to offer then you should head to Audubon Acres. There are more than five miles of hiking trails available to you. There is also a small visitor center that has an archaeological museum.

Additionally, there are historical spots on the property. Most notably, there is a site significant to the Trail of Tears.

5. Climb Lookout Mountain

Just like the river, Lookout Mountain is another attraction you cannot afford to miss. It looms over the city and separates Tennessee from Georgia. The trail is 4100 feet long and takes you along a gorgeous path with stunning views.

Furthermore, the mountain is set inside the Chattanooga National Military Park, so you can learn a little bit about Civil War history. This is also possibly the best place in the area to get cool photos for Instagram.

6. Go See Ruby Falls

If you are already at Lookout Mountain, you need to go see Ruby Falls. Set inside the mountain itself, the Ruby Falls is in a cave and is truly stunning. The waterfalls and caves are both referred to as Ruby Falls, and it is the deepest commercial cave in the country at 145 feet tall.

Unfortunately, you cannot go see this attraction on your own, you need to book a tour. Fortunately, there are several tours available every day, so you should be able to get one booked.

7. Visit Raccoon Mountain

If you want to see something outside of the city center, one of the first places you should visit is Raccoon Mountain. The caverns here consist of more than five miles of unmapped cave systems. It is always expanding, and people are always finding new passageways. This makes it an incredibly cool place to explore and a great family activity.

8. Head to the Chattanooga Zoo

If you have little ones with you, it might be a good idea to show them the animals at the Chattanooga Zoo. Filled with over 300 animals and over 200 species, there are plenty of cool things for your kids to see. 9. Take a Walk Through the Art District

If you want to see the culture of the city, the art district should be high on your list of things to do. It is easily accessible from downtown, and there is a lot to see. There is also a bark park that you can bring your dog to.
