How Much Does it Costs to Rent an RV in Las Vegas?

When you start to look around at different rental options you will quickly realize that there are major variations in pricing. Those variations are caused by a variety of factors. Firstly, the size of the RV will affect the price you need to pay. Typically, larger RVs are more expensive than smaller options. There are a few reasons for that, but the most obvious reason is that larger RVs can accommodate more people and more things. As a result, more people are interested in renting larger RVs.

Another factor that can affect pricing is whether an RV is driveable or towable. Typically, driveable RVs are more expensive than towable options. Driveable RVs are larger than towable options in most cases, but that is not the main reason why they are more expensive. Towable RVs require RVers to have a tow vehicle. Fun Things To Do in Las Vegas, NV

1. Spend a Day Driving Through the Valley of Fire

Just an hour away from Sin City, you’ll find a world that’s as different from the neon lights of Vegas as chalk from cheese. Drive through the Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada’s oldest state park, and prepare to be amazed by the size and color of the red rock formations. In bright sunshine, you’ll think the rocks are actually on fire.

2. Visit Death Valley National Park

We actually took two days to enjoy the amazing sights at Death Valley National Park at a somewhat relaxed pace. We loved it in Death Valley and can’t wait to go back! For many outdoor enthusiasts, a trip to Death Valley is the highlight of a trip to Vegas. It’s like no other place we’ve ever seen. And when you see the breathtaking otherworldly desert vistas at the park, you’ll understand why.

3. Take a Helicopter Tour of the Grand Canyon

I absolutely loved the helicopter tour! Not only did we see the grand canyon but we flew down into the canyon and landed for lunch on a plateau just above the Colorado River. I think every chip monk within a mile joined us! We also flew over the desert landscape to see Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!

4. Visit the “BIG 5” Right Next Door in Utah! 

Lots of people fly to Vegas (because plane tickets there are very cheap) and book an RV to head for the BIG 5 National Parks in Utah! They are Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches National Parks. These are some of the most popular and gorgeous National parks in the USA.

5. Check Out Las Vegas!

There are a million things to do in Vegas but some of my personal favorites are:

• Watch the Water Fountain Show at the Bellagio
• Visit the Fremont Street Lights Show and Take the Zip Line!
• Take a Gondola Ride at the Venetian – You’ll feel like you are in Venice Italy!
• Walk through all of the Theme Hotels and visit the Treasure Island Pirate Show for sure!

6. Drive (and hike) Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon State Park is just a 16 mile drive from Las Vegas. Here you can do the one-way 13-mile scenic drive through the park. You will see stunning red sandstone formations and beautiful vistas. You can stop to admire the views and to take photos at stops along the drive, have a picnic in nice weather, and just enjoy being in the peace and quiet of the lovely park. There are also some ATV rentals on the way there and they are well worth the money!

1. Red Rock Canyon Campground

Las Vegas is known for The Strip, poker, and blackjack. People from all around the world come to Sin City to try to turn $100 into $1,000,000, but that is not the only reason to visit the great city of Las Vegas. Las Vegas sits in the middle of a massive desert, and there are many stunning natural attractions for you to see in that desert.

A great place for you to stay while you are exploring the area is Red Rock Canyon Campground. The park is located in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, allowing you to check out many of the most interesting attractions in the area. The campground is also just 20 minutes away from downtown Las Vegas, so you can easily head to The Strip for a day if you want.

Before you start to explore, you will need to get yourself situated on site. Fortunately, there are 53 excellent individual campsites for you to stay at. Each site allows 10 people and two vehicles to stay at a time. There are also seven large group campsites that accommodate up to 20 people and eight vehicles. Finally, there are six RV sites that accommodate one RV and one regular vehicle. Each site comes with a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. The picnic tables are also covered in shade by trees.

When you stay at Red Rock Canyon Campground you will have access to a wide variety of amenities. These amenities include accessible vault toilets, campfire rings, drinking water, grills, a dump station, trash collection services, water spigots, tent pads, and barbecues. However, if you prefer to explore the surrounding area, there are more than 60 miles of hiking trails to check out.

2. Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead

Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead is another excellent place for RVers to stay while they explore Las Vegas and the surrounding area. It is just far enough outside of Las Vegas to be away from the noise of the city, but close enough that you can visit any time you want. The campground is open all year round and has easily accessible paved sites. This is also a big rig friendly park, so you should not have trouble staying here if you have a larger RV.

The sites at Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead are managed by the National Park Service. Reservations are not permitted, so they are available to those who show up first. Guests are also asked not to stay for too long so that other guests have an opportunity to stay here. As a result, this is not a great place to stay if you are planning to stay in Las Vegas for an extended period of time. However, if you are only planning on staying for a week or less, this is a great place to stay.

Even though you will not be able to stay for long, the sites you are staying at will be very comfortable. RV sites come with full electric, water, and sewer hookups. All sites are also positioned close to the water so that all guests have a great view of the lake. While you are visiting you can look forward to swimming, kayaking, and jet skiing. Alternatively, if you prefer to stay on land, you can check out the River Mountains Loop Trail. The trail is more than 30 miles long and lets guests see some truly spectacular things.   

3. Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort is located just off Interstate 15 at exit 33B. You will enter the resort through an arched entry before you are met by friendly and courteous staff. The staff will lead you to your site before showing you around the campground and helping you with anything you might need.

There are three types of campsites available to guests: standard, deluxe, and premium. The standard sites are back-in sites that exist on the southern perimeter of the resort. This places them furthest from the resort amenities. Additionally, they do not come with picnic tables, and they are in the Desert Landscape.

The deluxe sites are pull-thru sites that are closer to the clubhouse than the standard options. Every deluxe site has a well maintained lawn for you to relax on as well as a picnic table. These sites are $5 more expensive than the standard options.

Finally, premium sites have both pull thru and back in options. They are the closest sites to the clubhouse and other amenities. All of them have beautiful lawns and a picnic table. They are $5 more expensive than deluxe sties.

All sites come with 20, 30, and 50 amp service, as well as sewer, cable, and Wi-Fi. Other amenities include a family pool, an adult only pool, a spa, an 18 hole putting course, 24 courtesy patrol, a fitness center, a fully stocked convenience store, banquet facilities, sanctioned horseshoe pits, laundry facilities, and free showers.

4. Valley of Fire State Park

Valley Fire State Park is known for having 40,000 acres of beautiful Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in tan limestone. Here you will find ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs that have been fossilized for over 2000 years. Every year there is an Annual Atlatl Competition in which people compete with replicas of ancient spears. Visiting at this time will mean that you have another exciting event to look forward to during your Las Vegas RV trip.

Valley of Fire State Park is split up into two campgrounds with 72 campsites combined. Every campsite comes with a shaded picnic table, a grill, and access to fresh water and restrooms. There is a dump station on each campground, and showers are available to all guests. Unfortunately, reservations are not available as sites are available on a first come, first served basis. As a result, guests are limited to staying for 14 days in a 30 day window. All campsites also come with electric and water hookups.

If you want to get away from your campsite, there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. There are plenty of hiking trails to explore. You can ask the staff at the visitor center where you should go and which trails to check out. They will have trails for you to fit the length and difficulty of the hike you are looking for.

5. Las Vegas Bay Campground at Lake Mead

Like the campground at Boulder Beach, Las Vegas Bay Campground at Lake Mead is an excellent place to stay. It is located in a natural area with stunning views of the natural environment, but it is close enough to the city that you can easily go into town for a day to visit. The campground is one of 15 that sits on the shores of Lake Mead.

When you stay at Las Vegas Bay Campground at Lake Mead you will have access to campsites with full electric, water, and sewer hookups. In the park, you will find a mix of palm trees, oleanders, mature cottonwood trees, and native vegetation. This mix of vegetation will help provide you with privacy at your campground. There is also lots of wildlife in the area including birds, lizards, antelope squirrels, and sometimes coyotes.

If you want to stay at Las Vegas Bay Campground you need to show up early in the day because sites are given away on a first come first served basis. There are also a few rules you need to abide by while you stay here. Firstly, guests are limited to staying here for a total of 90 days over any 12 month period, and it is limited to 15 days per visit. Additionally, there are quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. During this time guests are expected not to create any unreasonable noise. This includes noises that come from generators or electronics.

6. Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town

For those of you that have been involved in the RV scene for a little while you will have heard of KOA. KOA is one of the most well regarded RV campground organizations in the United States. As a result, it should be no surprise to hear that KOA has an excellent campground in the Las Vegas area. That campground is Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town. The campground is just a few steps away from Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, one of the biggest and most popular casino resorts in the city of Las Vegas. There you will be able to enjoy your favorite games, or you can catch a movie at the in house movie theater.

The RV park has everything you need to be comfortable during your stay. There are pull thru, big rig friendly sites available to guests. Additionally, all sites come with full, 30, and 50 amp hook-ups. Some sites come with fully furnished patios, whereas others have patios without furniture. The park itself is fully landscaped and has trees to provide you with shade. You will appreciate this as the sun can take a lot out of you when you are in this part of the country.

While you are staying at Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town, you will have access to a variety of amenities. Those amenities include a 56 lane bowling alley, indoor gardens, waterfall park, two pools, hot tubs, laundry facilities, shower facilities, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a communal barbecue area.

7. Lake Mead RV Village at Boulder Beach

Lake Mead RV Village at Boulder Beach has been providing places for RVers to stay since 1917. In that time the staff has worked hard to build the reputation of the park into one that is respected. Today they are proud to have a friendly staff that makes you feel comfortable at the restaurants, resorts, and hotels in the area.

When you stay at Lake Mead RV Village you will have access to one of the 115 excellent RV sites. Many of these sites are pull thru, but there are a few back in options if that is what you prefer. Additionally, there are electric, water, and sewer hookups at every site. You will also have access to cable TV with 40 channels including Showtime. Wi-Fi is available at all sites with only a few exceptions.

When you are at the campground you will have access to two meeting rooms for group activities. These rooms have indoor seating and a large outdoor deck with views of the lake. Events are hosted here almost every week, so you will need to check the schedule when you are there to see what is happening.

Also on the site is a convenience and gift store. There you can purchase anything you might need, including propane. Finally, the park has laundry facilities available to all guests, and it is within walking distance of Boulder Beach.
