If you are looking for cheap and affordable RV rentals to see the country, cheap RV rentals are a great vacation option. RVs allow you to go where you please and truly experience the great outdoors.

An average RV rental is almost always cheaper than booking a hotel room. The cost per night is usually well below hotel rates, and you will often get more amenities in an RV rental than a basic hotel room.

Many RV rentals can sleep between six and eight people, which makes them particularly economical for families and large groups.

Most cheap RV rentals have bathrooms, kitchens, and space for relaxing. Since food is one of the most significant expenses on vacation, having a place to prepare your meals will save you a lot of money on your trip.

Our guide to Cheap RV Rentals – Affordable Rentals for Less will help you find the best deal for your RV adventure through the United States and Canada!

What are Average Cheap RV Rental Prices?

RV rental rates vary by several factors. The most significant factor that will impact your cost is the size of the rig. Bigger Class A RVs will be much more expensive than smaller Class C RVs or pop-up campers. If you are looking for the cheapest RV rental rates, try to rent the smallest rig that will accommodate your group.

A smaller RV will not only save you on the rental rate per night, but it will also save you in fuel costs. A smaller vehicle type means less gas, so the cost to drive or tow it will be much more affordable.

Other factors that will impact the cost of your rental are the age of the rental, pickup location, time of year of your rental, and length of the rental. Renting during the off-season means a much better deal on all RV rentals.

Many RV owners will discount their nightly rates if you rent the RV for a week or more. If you plan to rent an RV for a week or more and no discounted price is listed, ask the RV owner in a message. You may be surprised at how often they will accommodate your request!

The prices below are estimates for each RV type. Keep in mind that depending on the make and model of the rig, the actual cost may be more or less than the rates listed below.

Cheap Drivable RVs

Class A RVs

Class A RV rentals are also known as motorhome rentals, are usually a more high end, luxury option for RV camping. Many Class A Recreational Vehicles can accommodate a family of up to six people comfortably.

Due to their often upgraded amenities, rental rates range from $200 to $400 or more per night. Weekly rates average around $1,750, but there are deals out there. Since the price is more per night, there is often some room to negotiate, especially if you are renting for a more extended period of time.

Class B RVs

Class B RVs, or campervans, are a great low-cost option for one to two people. Class B RV Rental rates average around $175 to $200 per night, with weeklong rates around $1,200. There are definitely deals available in this category. If your dates are flexible, you could find a weekly rental under $1,000.

Class C RVs

Class C RVs are the typical RV with a bed over the cab, along with a bathroom, kitchen, and dining area. Many Class C RVs can accommodate 5 to 6 people, making them a good option for families. Class C rental rates average around $200 to $250 per night, with weekly rates of approximately $1,400. Renting a smaller Class C and being flexible with your dates can bring the price down much lower.

How Can I Find Cheap RV Rentals Near Me?

The easiest way to find an affordable RV rental near you is to use the search feature on a website for RV Rentals called Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy is the best peer-to-peer RV rental company and they have a great website that connects RV and Travel Trailer owners with people like you looking to rent RVs for a vacation. Outdoorsy also offers insurance, roadside assistance, and customer support so that you can kick back and relax on your road trip.

To find the perfect RV rental for you, use the search feature on Outdoorsy. You can search for travel trailers and RVs near your home, or if you are traveling to a National Park or another vacation spot, you can search for rentals near your destination anywhere in America or Canada.

Search RV Rentals Outdoorsy

Outdoorsy is excellent because you can search for rentals by price, which helps you stick to your budget. You can also search by type of RV or the number of people you want to sleep in the rig.

Are There Cheap RV Rentals with Unlimited Miles?

Most drivable RVs have a charge for mileage over a certain amount. If you are driving a long distance on your trip, and are concerned about additional mileage costs, consider renting a towable RV.

If you need a drivable RV, keep in mind that most owners allow anywhere from 100-150 miles per day at no additional cost. Depending on where you are going, this may meet your needs. Once you meet your mileage allotment, then you pay per mile.

If you are driving more than the maximum mileage during your trip, reach out to the RV owner to see if they are willing to negotiate the maximum mileage with you. Depending on how many miles you are driving, if you are only going a few miles over the maximum, or if you are renting the RV for an extended time, they may be willing to work with you on this cost.

Can I Find Cheap Monthly RV Rentals Near Me?

Many RV owners are willing to rent their RVs for a month or more, with discounts for longer-term rentals. To find great deals on monthly RV rentals, use the search feature in Outdoorsy to select your dates. Most owners list their daily, weekly, and monthly rates in their RV information. Monthly rental rates are typically much cheaper per night than daily or weekly rental rates.

What About Last Minute RV Rental Deals?

While it is best to book your RV rental well in advance, especially during busy summer months, you can find great discounts on RV rentals. The best way to find discounts at the last minute is to use the search feature on Outdoorsy. Enter the dates of your trip to search for last-minute deals.

One way to find discounted rates is to search for a rental period of seven days or more instead of just two or three days. RV owners often discount their nightly rates for longer rentals. Renting for a more extended amount of time is an excellent option if you have a flexible schedule and want to extend your adventure.

Are There Discount Codes for Cheap RV Rentals?

Our favorite RV rental platform is Outdoorsy. We prefer peer-to-peer rentals over corporate rental agencies because the rigs are typically better maintained and have more amenities included in the rental rate.

How to Find the Best RV Rental Deals

Are you ready to rent your cheap and affordable RV? Outdoorsy offers tons of fantastic rental RVs and travel trailers. Outdoorsy partners with RV owners to rent out their awesome travel trailers and RVs in locations all across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and the United Kingdom. And international tourists can also rent an RV in the US too!

Outdoorsy is a great way to rent an RV because you can choose the exact rig you want. Because you are renting directly from the owner, you will often find more unique features and amenities than you would in a corporate RV rental.

Some of the RV Owners on Outdoorsy even offer a delivery option if you want the convenience of having your RV delivered to your campsite! You are also protected by Outdoorsy’s world-class insurance and 24/7 customer support.

To find your perfect RV rental, go to Outdoorsy.com and enter your rental location and preferred dates for your trip. You can filter your search by entering any amenities or special needs that you have. For example, you can search for travel trailers that come with a tow vehicle rental. Or you can search for rentals that include amenities such as dishes and linens.

Next, you can filter by price, the number of people the trailer can accommodate and reviews. Because Outdoorsy is a peer-to-peer rental service, it is a good idea to only look at rentals from owners with four or five-star reviews. You will be surprised at the number of five-star reviews you will find on the website.

For more info, you can check out our article called How to Find Cheap RV Rentals Under $100 a Night where we go into more detail about the best strategy to find affordable RV rentals.

Another rental option is to rent an rv from one of the national rentals companies like Cruise America or El Monte RV. We rented an RV from Cruise America but we feel that you can find a cheaper and more affordable RV rental through Outdoorsy.

No matter which RV you choose, we hope you have a great time on your RV vacation!
