Do You Need A 5th Wheel With 2 Bedrooms?
If you plan on going on an extended vacation in your RV or trailer, there will be times when you struggle to find privacy. Unfortunately, campers have a limited amount of space, especially compared to most homes.
However, there are some 5th wheels with two bedrooms. Having two bedrooms will allow you to get some much-needed privacy at a time when it is difficult to get away from your travel companions.
Additionally, having two bedrooms will allow people to go to bed at different times. In a lot of RVs, this is not possible because everywhere in the trailer is connected. As a result, if someone is staying up, the lights will impact everyone in the trailer.
So, having multiple rooms with doors will allow everyone to be more independent when it comes to sleep. It might take a little longer to find a few great 5th wheels with 2 bathrooms, but it will be worth the wait.
10 Best 5th Wheels With 2 Bedrooms: 2024 Models
We’ve done the leg work to find 10 of the best 5th wheels with 2 bedrooms for you to begin your search.
There are many different manufacturers, floor plans, and price points to choose from. Although having 2 close bedrooms in a 5th wheel does limit the options there are still some great options.
1. Heartland Elkridge 37BBH
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Massive storage options, including under all the beds and the tri-fold sofa
⛔ Elkride Cold Weather package is excellent, but isn’t enough for harsh winters
- UVW: 12,287 lbs
- GVWR: 16,531 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,531 lbs
- CCC: 4,196 lbs
- Length: 42′ 5”
- Sleep: 8
The 5th wheels with 2 bedrooms currently on the market are massive, and the Heartland Elkridge 37BBH puts many of those to shame. At nearly 43′ in length, the living space the Heartland offers is extraordinary, often feeling like a residential home on wheels.
It’s a bath-and-a-half, with the secondary bedroom only offering an adjacent toilet and sink. However, both bathrooms are large and spacious. The kitchen and living spaces are equally enormous, with plenty of space to move about and not get in anyone’s way, even those relaxing on the sofa or dinette, watching the TV.
2. Jayco North Point 390CKDS
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Huge sleeping capacity that’s perfect for large families
⛔ Not much seating in the galley/living area for so many people
- UVW: 15,425 lbs
- GVWR: 18,000 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,725 lbs
- CCC: 2,575 lbs
- Length: 44′
- Sleep: 7
The Jayco North Point 390CKDS is even bigger than the previous Heartland, even if it offers a smaller sleeping capacity. However, large families should still apply, as there’s plenty of room for everyone.
One of the biggest draws is the two full bathrooms in both bedrooms. Both are private and separate from the rest of the RV. This is a great option for kids, and you don’t have to worry about a line waiting for the shower.
This RV could use a little more seating place in the living room, but the design is clearly focused on bedroom space. In that capacity, it certainly delivers.
3. Forest River Sandpiper 4002FB
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Both bedrooms are virtually twins, with plenty of space and their own bathrooms
⛔ Kitchen island lights often throw a rough glare on the 50″ TV
- UVW: 12,889 lbs
- GVWR: 15,500 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,340 lbs
- CCC: 2,611 lbs
- Length: 43′ 5”
- Sleep: 8
No List is complete without an entry from Forest River. The Sandpiper is one of Forest River’s higher-end models.
The Sandpiper 4002FB has a modern interior with soft tones and residential-style fixtures. The large island with a deep sink is a welcome feature in the kitchen.
A dining table and chairs sit directly across from the kitchen. Beside the dining area is a set of comfy theater seating recliners providing a perfect view of the 50″ T.V. and entertainment center.
A large bedroom with a Queen bed and lots of storage sits at the front of the trailer. The second bedroom with a Queen bed and equal amounts of storage is located at the rear. This bedroom also includes a full bath and exterior entry.
4. Shasta Phoenix 381DBL
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Dual-opposing slides in the kitchen/living area make for an enormous living space
⛔ Vent fan is on the small side for such a sizeable bathroom
- UVW: TBD
- GVWR: TBD
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: TBD
- CCC: TBD
- Length: TBD
- Sleep: 6
The Shasta Phoenix still isn’t listing its primary specs, as this is one of their newest models. However, there’s a lot to get excited about for the 381DBL. Most 5th wheels with two bedrooms struggle to fit in two, full-size bathrooms, yet the Shasta does so with room to spare.
This includes full bathtubs, along with a queen bed in the front bedroom and a king in the master. The master bedroom features a large bathroom with two sinks. The second bedroom has a smaller bathroom, but it’s private, large enough, and covers all the bases.
The living space in the center of the RV is enormous, which is always a plus for large families or big get-togethers.
5. Coachmen Chaparral 375BAF
Our Pros and Cons
✅ A ton of headspace in the bathroom
⛔ Tight squeeze between the top of the cooktop and the bottom of the microwave
- UVW: 12,421 lbs
- GVWR: 14,500 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,152 lbs
- CCC: 2,079 lbs
- Length: 42′ 6”
- Sleep: 10
The Coachmen Chaparral 375BAF sleeps 10, an incredible number for a two-bedroom, two-full-bathroom experience. To make up for the size constraints this usually creates, the second bedroom is a bunkbed room, with a fold-out option on the bottom bed of one of the four bunks.
There’s even enough room next to the bunk beds to cram in a washer and dryer at the prep spot in the corner.
The bedroom space is large and a perfect play space for smaller children. The master bedroom features a king bed, with a huge bathroom, dual sinks, and a large tub/shower as well.
6. Alliance Paradigm 395DS
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Three-year structural warranty
⛔ Day shades aren’t included throughout the entire RV
- UVW: 13,920 lbs
- GVWR: 16,800 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,094 lbs
- CCC: 2,880 lbs
- Length: 42′ 6”
- Sleep: 8
Alliance is one of the highest-rated RV manufacturers in terms of quality and durability. and the Paradigm 395DS stands out among a group of excellent 5th wheels with 2 bathrooms. Like some of the others on this list, it features two, full bathrooms adjacent to their respective bedrooms.
The living space/kitchen is enormous and even the small touches, like the freestanding dinette table, make the room seem even larger than it really is.
It’s especially nice to see the theater seating directly across from the TV, something RVs often struggle with, at least insofar as getting the angle right. The 395DS is a huge 5th wheel and an exceptional long-term choice for families.
7. Grand Design Reflection 362TBS
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Trashcan and recycler built right into a kitchen drawer for an extra touch of convenience
⛔ Some cabinetry is pretty shallow, without much depth for storing larger items
- UVW: 12,428 lbs
- GVWR: 14,995 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,375 lbs
- CCC: 2,567 lbs
- Length: 39′ 11”
- Sleep: 8
The Reflection 362TBS is a little more streamlined than previous entries, with a smaller. tub-less bathroom in the second bedroom. However, it’s absolutely loaded for bear with features and modern aesthetics. The smaller bathroom doesn’t subtract much from an otherwise large and spacious RV.
The entertainment area is extremely nice, especially with how Grand Design designed the TV mount on the backside of the second bedroom’s bathroom. It places the TV upfront and personal with the theatre seating across from it.
The rest of the living space and kitchen are large and loaded with all the features you expect out of a Grand Design of this size.
8. Dutchmen Astoria 3343BHF
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Private bunkhouse with its own half-bath
⛔ Black tank handles are stiff
- UVW: 10,377 lbs
- GVWR: 12,000 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,030 lbs
- CCC: 1,623 lbs
- Length: 37′ 9”
- Sleep: 8
The Dutchman Astoria 3343BHF is almost identical to the Grand Design Reflection 362TBS, except the Astoria has dual-opposing bunks in the rear. The bathroom lacks a shower, but you get the toilet and sink treatment here as well as in the 362TBS.
Also, like the previous entry, the Astoria is a streamlined affair that manages to maintain a spacious and ambient atmosphere. The overall aesthetic is a bit different, with a darker aesthetic and a more home-like, welcoming look that many RVers love.
9. Keystone Montana 3915TB
Our Pros and Cons
✅ Marine-grade Sensations by Syntec where the slides are.
⛔ The blinds are connected to the springs by a piece of plastic that doesn’t hold well
- UVW: N/A
- GVWR: N/A
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 3,000 lbs
- CCC: N/A
- Length: 42′ 7”
- Sleep: 6
It’s not often you see 5th wheels with two bedrooms that only sleep 6 while offering two, full-size bathrooms. The Keystone Montana 3915TB does just that and, to be honest, you will probably find some extra sleeping space if you have that one extra hanging out for the evening.
Both the queen bed in the rear bedroom and the king bed in the front bedroom are part of the two front and back slides. This is a great idea on Keystone’s part because it really maximizes the living space inside each bedroom.
10. Forest River Cedar Creek 380MUD
Our Pros and Cons
✅ TV and entertainment center cover a huge, secret storage compartment
⛔ Front Murphy bed features a narrow frame with a very thin mattress
- UVW: 14,739 lbs
- GVWR: 18,000 lbs
- Tongue/Hitch Weight: 2,555 lbs
- CCC: 3,216 lbs
- Length: 43′ 5”
- Sleep: 8
Last but not least on our list of 5th wheels with 2 bedrooms is the Forest River Cedar Creek 380MUD. Of course, we aren’t sticking the worst RV in the back of the pack. The 380MUD is an exceptional offering with two large sinks and dual mirrors in the master bath and a large sink and toilet in the secondary bathroom.
The king bed in the master is surrounded by a ton of space and the Murphy bed in the front is ingenious for getting the most space out of the little that remains.
Not only is there a Murphy bed but also a Murphy pantry, another prime example of Forest River creating new ways to maximize space and storage while providing RVers with a comfortable, slick-style living environment.
Advantages Of 5th Wheels With 2 Bedrooms
When you are on the road, you will be spending a tremendous amount of time with your travel companions. You will be eating, traveling, and doing all the outdoor activities together. As a result, it could be easy to get sick of each other.
Even if you are not sick of them, you will want some time to yourself. While that is not entirely possible in a trailer, it can be better managed when you have two bedrooms.
Most trailers have an open floor plan, and as a result, it is impossible to get time to yourself. However, when you purchase one of the best 5th wheels with 2 bedrooms, you will not have this issue.
Instead, the parents can relax in the master bedroom while the kids play in the secondary bedroom. You will not be able to have time entirely to yourself, but you can have some time alone with your spouse.
Additionally, having two bedrooms will make your trailer feel more like home. When you have an RV with an open floor plan, it is very apparent that you are on the road and not at home.
While this does not change when you have bedrooms, it is comforting to have four walls around you in the form of a bedroom. Having a private area like this will enable you to be on the road longer than you could be otherwise.
Can I Rent A 5th Wheel Before I Buy One?

5th Wheels with 2 Bedrooms are perfect for couples or small families. They are also great for extended vacations or weekend getaways.
One piece of info needed is the tongue/hitch weight for each of these units. Depending upon apportionment, tongue weight varies with floorplan.
No one should over-drive or over-load the capacities of their tow vehicles. As dealers know, the amount the vehicle can pull is reduced by the total of LOADED tow, loaded tow vehicle, and a margin for brake phasing and other errors.
Thanks for including all the floorplans. Really good review of these 5th wheels.
