Our Class A RV is 38 feet long but Class A RVs under 30 feet are the envy of many RVers. They’re big and beautiful, easy to drive, and they fit in many more camp sites than larger Class A RVs.

They also provide the very best that a home-on-wheels can offer. From power awnings and full bathrooms to state-of-the-art kitchens and toy haulers, Class A RVs under 30 feet really do seem to have it all.

A significant drawback of Class As, however, is that they’re just too dang long for some of us to feel comfortable driving. Thankfully, many Class A RVs are available at lengths of well under 30 feet. So, we made a list of 8 Small Class A RVs Under 30 Feet for 2024!

Class A vs. Class C Which Is Better?

Whether you choose a Class A or a Class C, there are some things to consider with those options. In general, a Class C will be more nimble, easier to drive and park, and feel more like a large truck or a van. On the flip side, you will find that Class C has less room for living.

Depending on which Class A you choose, these will be more costly in the initial purchase as well as things you will need to replace, in particular tires. Class A’s will give you more room and will probably feel more like home. You can choose from options such as a king bed, residential kitchen appliances, and a washer and dryer.

You will find more camping options with a smaller Class A such as these we have suggested. Many national parks have length limits so you need to have a shorter RV if your goal is to visit and camp in national parks.

Lastly, fuel economy might be a concern. A Class C is probably going to have better fuel economy because they are lighter in weight. You can find both RV types with gas and diesel engines.

How Much Are Small Class A RVs Under 30 Feet?

Small Class A motorhomes can cost anywhere from $50,000 to $200,000 and more. The more amenities the RV has, the bigger it is, and the fancier it is, the more it will cost. Used small Class A motorhomes are still going to be at the lower end of the range.

When you purchase a used RV, you also have to consider how much it will cost to replace tires, what engine repair might cost, items such as awnings, appliances, and more. All of these items will be more costly to replace or upgrade in a Class A.

Should I Buy an Extended Warranty for My Class A Motorhome?

Yes – but not from a dealership! Unfortunately, your odds of suffering a major mechanical breakdown go up with every passing year. Based on RV Warranty claims records, more than 3 out of every 10 RVs will need major repairs in only their second year on the road.

This skyrockets to 8 out of 10 in their fifth year, and virtually ALL of them in their eighth year! Today’s RVs are increasingly more complex, and with more things to go wrong, the need to protect your investment is more important than ever.

Our RV Warranty plans allow you to change your mind! If you’re looking to sell your RV to a private party, you can absolutely transfer the policy to the new owner. Additionally, if you are trading in your RV, or getting out of RVing altogether, you can cancel your policy for a pro-rated refund.

We bought a warranty through Wholesale Warranties for several reasons:

  • We can cancel the warranty at any time and get a pro-rated refund
  • We can transfer the warranty to the new owner if we decide to sell our RV
  • There are no mileage caps on our policy
  • We can use repair shops all across the country
  • We can use a mobile repair company right at our campsite
  • The price is way better than most dealerships
  • We could finance the cost of the warranty
  • With parts and labor prices increasing all the time, we have peace of mind

You owe it to yourself to at least check out a warranty and get a free quote to see if it is right for you. It just takes a few minutes and you will learn a ton about protecting your investment. We only recommend products we use ourselves and we highly recommend you get a free quote from Wholesale Warranties.

Final Thoughts About Class A RVs Under 30 Feet

Class A RVs don’t necessarily need to be 40 feet long to offer all the best accommodations and luxurious features. In fact, the 8 Class A RVs on our list above are all under 30 feet. And, they all provide the finest qualities found in just about any Class A RV on the market.

Smaller Class As, between 27 to 30 feet in length, are not just as comfortable as larger and more expensive motorhomes, but they are easier to drive, store, and maintain as well.

  1. Does anyone know of a newer model 26-27 ft motorhome that does not have a bed but a sofa bed? We like the extra room you gain by not having a bed.
