Things to Do In Missoula, Montana

As we mentioned briefly above, we do not expect Missoula to be the first place you think of for a vacation when you get your RV. However, it should be a place that you consider. Despite not being a hotbed for tourists, it has plenty of things to do and there are groups of people that swear that this is one of the best RV camping locations in the country. So, we have compiled a list of some of the best things to do in Missoula to give you some incentive to go there.

1. Head to the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula

Established in 1877 by locals to protect themselves from natives in the area, Fort Missoula is now the home of a historical museum. The museum offers an interesting look into the early years of settlers and everyday soldiers.

Over 20 buildings have been preserved on-site, and visitors can take a self-guided tour when they arrive at the museum. In the museum, they will find several exhibits that are home to artifacts of all kinds. Fort Missoula is also home to several annual events like the Fourth of July. So, depending on the time of the year that you are traveling, you may be able to catch one of these events.

2. Visit the Clark Fork Riverfront Trail

Another thing for you to do is head to the Clark Fork Riverfront trail. Sitting right next to the Clark Fork River, it runs through the city and is the main path that connects so many of the biggest attractions in the city. The trail is often used by people to take walks and runs, but it also has several benches for you to relax and enjoy the view.

3. Go to the Missoula Art Museum

The Missoula Art Museum was established in 1975 and now features several works from artists who work in the western United States. The museum puts an emphasis on Montana artists.
