How Much Do RV Rentals Cost in Los Angeles?

If you do not own an RV, you will need to rent one before you start your trip through Los Angeles and southern California. When you start to look for a suitable RV rental you will quickly realize that there are big variations in prices.

Some RVs are very cheap, whereas others can cost you hundreds of dollars a day. There are many things that can affect RV pricing, starting with the size of the RV. As you might expect, larger RVs are typically more expensive than smaller options. That is because larger RVs let you pack more things and bring more people with you. Larger RVs also feel more like a home than smaller options.

Additionally, whether an RV is driveable or towable will play a significant role in the price. Driveable RVs are usually more expensive because they are more convenient. Not only are they larger, but towable RVs require you to own a tow vehicle. Not everyone has a vehicle large enough to tow a large trailer, so they are forced to go with driveable RVs. As a result, the demand for driveable RVs is higher, and so is the price.

Furthermore, age will play a role in the price. Older RVs are cheaper than newer options. Finally, the season you are renting in will affect the price. If you are traveling in the summer, you can expect prices to be higher because there is a higher demand for RVs. However, in the winter not many are traveling, so prices go down and you can rent an RV for much cheaper than in the summer.

RV TypeDaily Rental Price
Class A$221
Class B$261
Class C$294
Travel Trailer$183
5th Wheel$189
Pop Up Camper$87
Truck Camper$175
Toy Hauler$150

Can I Have an RV Rental Delivered to My Campsite and Set Up Near Los Angeles, CA?

Yes! There are RV owners who will deliver your RV right to your campsite and set it all up for you. Then they will give you an orientation so you can learn how everything works. Then at the end of your stay, they will pick it up!

This is a great way to rent a less expensive towable RV like a travel trailer, 5th wheel, or even a popup camper if you don’t have a vehicle to tow it.

Are Pets Allowed in RV Rentals?

Yes! Pets are allowed in some RV rentals! All you need to do to find pet friendly RV rentals on Outdoorsy is select the pet friendly filter to narrow your search and you are all set!

Is It Safe to Rent an RV?

It is safe to rent an RV, especially when you rent from a company like Outdoorsy. RV rentals are considered safe by many travelers because RVs are self contained and you can stay socially distant while camping. In fact, many activities associated with camping are excellent for social distancing, such as hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, sightseeing, or bird watching.

What Do I Need to Pack When I Rent an RV?

With a peer-to-peer rental like the RV rentals at Outdoorsy you basically need to pack your groceries, some supplies, and your clothes.

Outdoorsy rentals are used by the RV owners for weekends and vacations and they rent out their RVs when they aren’t using them. So usually these RVs are pretty well stocked, right down to spices in the kitchen!

You can save a bundle because you won’t have to drive to Walmart and spend hundreds of dollars on things like a toaster, coffee pot, coffee filters, baggies, cookware, a grill, cooking utensils, and much more.

If you rent from the big corporate rental companies – nothing is included in the rental and you will spend a small fortune buying or renting all of this stuff.

Do I Need a Special Driver’s License to Rent an RV in Los Angeles?

No, you don’t need a special driver’s license to drive an RV unless it weighs more than 26,000 lbs. which is very unlikely.

You will need to have a driver’s license and be insurable to be able to rent an RV though. Two easy hurdles to jump over in the rental process.

Where is the Best Place to Rent an RV in Los Angeles?

We recommend Outdoorsy to all of our readers and subscribers. Why?

  • Outstanding Customer Service
  • Awesome Customer Reviews
  • Huge Selection of RVs to Choose From
  • Safest and Most Trusted RV Rental Company
