Over a thousand apps are dumped into the App Store (iOS) and the Google Play Store daily, so it’s easy to imagine an RV leveling app dropping occasionally. The question is, which RV Leveling apps are the best?

After all, if the app doesn’t work, your RV’s appliances might not work, water drainage becomes problematic, and you can even damage your slide-outs by placing too much strain on them. Plus, it just messes with day-to-day life.

In this article, we’ll cover the 5 best RV leveling apps available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store marketplaces. These aren’t just run-of-the-mill apps. They’re growing in popularity because they work. We’ll show you exactly how and if each one is worth your time.

Is There a Phone App for Leveling an RV?

There is more than a single phone app for leveling an RV. Nowadays, there’s a phone app for everything. There’s even an electric shaver app. If you can figure out how that one works, you’re ahead of all the curves.

There are several RV leveling apps out there. Some require external components, while others don’t. Either way, it’s not a gimmick by any means. Smartphones (especially the newer models) feature excellent accelerometers and gyroscopes, making leveling apps an obvious tool for RVers.

Does an RV Need to Be Perfectly Level?

Does an RV need to be perfectly level?

An RV doesn’t need to be perfectly level. In fact, those who achieve a perfect level, that’s within a micro-millimeter, probably achieved it by luck more than anything else. The general rule of thumb is that you can be 1° to 2° from being plumb level.

“Plumb” just means perfectly level. So long as you are within 1° to 2°, everything on your RV should function as it’s supposed to, and you won’t notice any ill effects while sleeping or walking around inside.

RVBlogger Pro Tip:

Please be sure to set your emergency brake and/or apply wheel chocks to your tires before you begin the leveling process. To learn more about wheel chocks, check out our article called Do I Need Wheel Chocks for an RV or Travel Trailer?

The Best RV Leveling Apps for iPhone and Android

There are hundreds of thousands of apps on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Out of all those apps, multiple RV apps cover a wide range of features. RV leveling apps are a small slice of that pie, and they’re more useful than you might think.

Some of these apps can be used by themselves, while others require the purchase of a separate product. The additional device detects the leveling balance of your RV and sends information to your wireless device. With proper placement, your phone or these devices can be as accurate or better than bubble level tools.

1. Camper Leveler

Camper Leveler app
  • Users: 100k+ Android
  • Review: 4.0 out of 5.0 Stars
  • Price: Free
  • Available: Android (smartphone, tablets, Kindle Fire, etc.)

Camper Leveler is one of two RV leveler applications developed by eLand apps, and the app itself has been on the Google Play Store for over a decade. Apps don’t have that kind of longevity and 4-star+ favorability if they’re garbage and don’t function as advertised.

There are no secondary tools required to operate the app, only a good knowledge of your RV’s specs. The app takes into account the wheelbase and wheel width measurements, both of which you’ll have to enter before the app will work properly.

After that, it’s just a matter of placing your smartphone on a flat surface, as near the RV’s center as you can. From there, you let it do its thing. The app will tell you how many centimeters you need to raise each wheel to achieve equilibrium front to back and side to side.

2. LevelMate Pro

  • Users: 50K+
  • Review:
    • Google: 3.4 out of 5.0 stars
    • Apple: 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
  • Price:
    • Google: Free
    • Apple: Free App/ $14.99 add-on for the Apple Watch version
  • Available: iOS, Apple Watch OS, Android

LevelMate Pro is probably the most recognizable RV leveling app on the list. Developed by Command Electronics LLC, the LevelMate Pro app is technically a companion app, with the leveling device that goes with it available for purchase on the Logic Blue Tech site

The LevelMate Pro+ is the latest edition, and it’s a small, simple box that you simply mount in a central area on your rig. The Pro+ box syncs with your smartphone and, in turn, the LevelMate Pro app.

The box has a built-in, 3-axis accelerometer, and working with the app will help you level your RV with precision. The LevelMate Pro is battery-powered only and doesn’t work with the Apple Watch. However, if you pick up the Pro+, you get Apple Watch functionality as well as a micro-USB charging port for the Pro+ device.

3. RVIQ WoBLR

RVIQ WoBLR app
  • Users: 1K+
  • Reviews: 3.3 out of 5.0 stars on Apple and Google
  • Price: The app is free after the purchase of the product
  • Available: iOS and Android

The RVIQ WoBLR app was developed by RV Intelligence, a company that specializes in wireless, smart RV devices and appliances. Think Samsung’s Smart Things but for RVs instead. RV Intelligence currently offers its smart RV integration app, a smart control app for awnings, slides, jacks, and a leveling app.

If you download their RVIQMOTION app, along with the RVIQ WoBLR app, you can level your RV using your phone, along with the paired function box device you have to purchase for RV leveling. The function box acts just like the LevelMate Device.

All you have to do is follow the instructions, install the device, download the app, and link it to your smartphone. The device determines the level, reports it to your smartphone, and lets you know how much each wheel needs to elevate or drop down.

4. Caravan Leveler

Caravan Leveler app
  • Users: 20k+
  • Review:
    • 4.6 out of 5.0 stars- Google
    • N/A- Apple
  • Price: $1.99 for the full product and all its features
  • Available: iOS and Android

Caravan Leveler is a leveling app developed by eLand, the same company behind Camper Leveler. Both apps sport a ton of downloads and the highest ratings out of all the leveler apps available on the market.

The difference between the two is the Caravan Leveler is newer than the Camper Leveler, though the latter is still in use and quite popular. It essentially works the same as the Camper app, however.

All you have to do is input the RV’s specs on the app, including the wheelbase and the wheel width. Then, place your smartphone in a centrally located, flat place. From there, the app relays the necessary information, such as the up and down adjustments for each wheel.

5. Motorhome Level App

Motorhome Leveler app
  • Users: 1k+
  • Reviews: N/A
  • Price: $1.99, a one-time price for the full product and all its features
  • Available: iOS and Android

The Motorhome Level App is a relative newcomer in the group, and it functions in much the same way as the eLand-developed apps. Though it was developed by Ulrich Münch, there are no language barriers to worry about.

Like the Camper and Caravan apps, there is no need to purchase any separate equipment. The interface is a simplified version of what the Camper and Caravan apps offer, with each wheel represented by a square.

When the wheel is where it needs to be, it changes from red to green. To run the app, simply open it, fill out the required specs, and set the phone down on a level, central spot. Make the individual adjustments until all of the squares are green. That’s it!

Final Thoughts on Using RV Leveling Apps

A good RV leveling app makes life so much easier, especially if you’re already in the process of setting up a smart RV. It’ll easily coordinate with your other smart devices, despite being a separate app entirely.

Now, if you have a smartphone that’s ten years old, the apps may not work as well for you, so always check the recommended software versions to ensure they match up well. Outside of that, the apps are dependable and highly convenient, providing accurate leveling information so you don’t fall off the bed at night.
