As the world changes, camping is becoming increasingly popular among people of all ages. Specifically, more people are becoming interested in RVs and using them for road trips.

A new generation is entering the RV world, making it an exciting time for the RV community. If you are one of those people, you might be considering purchasing a Class B RV, maybe one with a slideout.

A Class B RV is different from many of the other types of RVs. Instead of having an attached cab, they are compact vans that include all the features of the motorhome in the van itself. As a result, they are much more compact than some of the other options available to you.

You will also sometimes hear them referred to by different names. These names include conversion vans, camper vans, B vans, Class B RVs, and Class B motorhomes. Despite the possible confusion that could come from the names, these RVs are beloved by RV owners.

So, if you are interested in getting an RV, a Class B RV could be a great option for you. They are not the biggest options, so they are not overly challenging to manage.

This is especially useful for new owners who already have their hands full learning everything there is to know about living in an RV and managing that lifestyle. If that is your situation, it is probably better to go with a smaller option.

So, do your research and make sure that you find the right one. It is a big financial commitment, so it is better to take your time then to make an impulse purchase. By taking your time you will be ensuring that you have the perfect RV for years to come.

1. Airstream Atlas

The Airstream Atlas is a Class B RV and the most luxurious touring coach RV they have made to date. This brand new RV is built on the legendary Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van chassis and is inspired by their trailblazing Airstream Interstate series.

It is 24 feet long, can seat up to 4 people, and sleeps up to 2. This makes it ideal for traveling with your spouse.

One of the most popular features of this RV is the power slide out Murphy Suite. When you are driving on the road the slide out is retracted to seamlessly fit into the body style of the RV.

However, when you are at the campground you can pull it out with a touch of a button from the control panel. Once it is extended you can enjoy relaxing on the couch or on your bed with a whole lot of extra space.

Airstream’s partnership goes beyond being built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van chassis. It also includes meeting the safety standards put in place by them.

Thanks to their partnership, this RV is put through rigorous safety testing before being put up for sale. As a result, you will not need to worry about anything manufacturing. Everything is as safe as possible.

There is also a three piece residential style bathroom. Having a bathroom that is like the one you have at home is essential as it will make you feel more comfortable in the RV.

You will have an added level of familiarity. In the bathroom, you will find a closet, vanity, shower, and porcelain toilet. You can also enjoy continuous hot water from the Kohler faucets and fixtures.

2. Regency RV Ultra Brougham Murphy Bed
UPDATE: REGENCY RV is no longer in business

This Class B RV with a slide out from Regency RV provides couples with a beautiful place to sleep and enjoy a luxury overnight experience. The RV has five generous exterior cargo compartments to hold everything you need.

So, you can carry the equipment you need to have a beautiful campfire. Alternatively, you can store everything you need to go fishing on the lake. There is plenty of space, so you can store equipment for several activities.

When you are relaxing inside your Class B RV, you can enjoy the generous island sized UB25IB Murphy bed. While in bed you can watch movies on the big screen TV that is perfectly positioned for you to watch from your bed.

You will be thankful that you have this as it gives you something to do on rainy days. It will also give you an escape from the outdoors if you are a little burnt out from camping in the middle of a long trip.

This RV has 44 cubic feet of storage, it seats up to 2 people, and it sleeps up to 2 as well. The vehicle has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or GVWR of 11,030 pounds. It is 25 feet and 1 inch long, and it has an exterior width of 7 feet and 10.5 inches.

Additionally, it is 10 feet and 6 inches tall. However, the interior height is only 6 feet 5 inches. So, if you are an exceptionally tall person you might need a larger RV.

The RV is also equipped with three water tanks, the fresh water, black water, and gray water tanks. The fresh water tank has a capacity of 26 gallons, the black water a capacity of 37 gallons, and the gray water a capacity of 39 gallons.

3. Winnebago ERA

This Class B RV with a slide out from Winnebago is a 2019 edition, so it is not a brand new RV. However, it is only a year old, so it will still have most of the features that you will get in the newest editions.

This is one of the first Sprinter-based models in its class, and it is designed to be reliable and powerful. It has on- and off-road capabilities and interior styling, so you can travel the country in style and comfort.

The RV itself is 24 feet and 3 inches long, and it can sleep up to 3 people. So, it is a good RV for new families with only one child.

A popular feature of this Class B RV is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. The 4×4 option is engineered to ensure that the RV can handle driving on pavement or dirt roads. The RV also has an expansive kitchen that is great for making home cooked meals. It has everything you could ever need, so you can enjoy a meal and feel like you are at home.

The RV also comes fully furnished and the furniture is incredibly comfortable. It is made from sumptuous Ultraleather. There is also flexible seating to ensure that you have all the space you need. Chairs can spin around so that you can hang out in all areas of the RV. You can even spin around the driver’s seats so that you have extra space to maneuver in the RV.

Finally, you can give yourself more outdoor enjoyment with the touch of a button. By pressing one button you can power the patio awning, LED lighting, and exterior speakers. So, you can relax, enjoy your time at the campsite, and enjoy the company of your family in your Class B RV.

Should I Buy an Extended Warranty for My Class B RV?

Yes – but not from a dealership! Unfortunately, your odds of suffering a major mechanical breakdown go up with every passing year. Based on RV Warranty claims records, more than 3 out of every 10 RVs will need major repairs in only their second year on the road.

This skyrockets to 8 out of 10 in their fifth year, and virtually ALL of them in their eighth year! Today’s RVs are increasingly more complex, and with more things to go wrong, the need to protect your investment is more important than ever.

Our RV Warranty plans allow you to change your mind! If you’re looking to sell your RV to a private party, you can absolutely transfer the policy to the new owner. Additionally, if you are trading in your RV, or getting out of RVing altogether, you can cancel your policy for a pro-rated refund.

We bought a warranty through Wholesale Warranties for several reasons:

  • We can cancel the warranty at any time and get a pro-rated refund
  • We can transfer the warranty to the new owner if we decide to sell our RV
  • There are no mileage caps on our policy
  • We can use repair shops all across the country
  • We can use a mobile repair company right at our campsite
  • The price is way better than most dealerships
  • We could finance the cost of the warranty
  • With parts and labor prices increasing all the time, we have peace of mind

You owe it to yourself to at least check out a warranty and get a free quote to see if it is right for you. It just takes a few minutes and you will learn a ton about protecting your investment. We only recommend products we use ourselves and we highly recommend you get a free quote from Wholesale Warranties.

  1. I’m confused, Class B is Van Body and a Mercedes Chassis Cab that has a fabricated rear section with a slide-out is no longer a Class B. I thought that once the Van body is cut-away and replaced it becomes a Class C. The Regency is Ultra Brougham with the Murphy Bed Slide-out, the Airstream Atlas, and the Leisure Van would no longer be considered a Class B. What is the correct term?
